There are dozens of threads about this and the devs have stated multiple times that Steam Workshop is not in their plans.Īpparently you know so very little about websites for modders. Most any of these 'MODS' can install accepted network connections when you click 'OK'. Gee - I wonder where these sudden thousands of BOT networks pop up from. Īntivirus isn't the say all in protecting against anything except what it knows about. It's actually pretty broad and in general - You are more likely to get malicious software from those MOD sites. Aside from that, ModDB and Nexus are known to be pretty safe. On a secondary note, if you have a good antivirus and follow its directive, you won't need to worry about anything malicious from mods. Its extra steps to add the mod to a game compared to having it on a steam workshop but it continues to work. I have seen some workshops with extremely poor filtering tags.Īs of right now, the only way to get mods is through Moddb, which works absolutely fine. Its would be up to the mod creator to add the correct tag, and if this is implemented poorly on the developer's end or the mod creator's end, then we as mod subscribers suffer. I've used the Workshop for both games for years with little to no issues.Īs for the filters, I'm not certain how the system is setup but I believe the developers set which tags the mod creators can label their mods as. Two example of games I personally own are M&B Warband and Warhammer 2. This isn't totally true, there are several games on Steam with Workshops integration that work perfectly fine. Its a terrible way to manage and download mods. The filters are bad, ♥♥♥♥ just randomly doesn't work. Originally posted by Doom Sayer:No workshop is garbage.
